Oval Screen Printing Machine
Printable Products
1. Garment cut pieces: T-shirts, hoodies, pants, socks, the main application of this machine.
2. Ready-made garments: Print directly on finished garments mounted on pallets, no need to cut fabric in advance.
3. Shoes & hats: Flat areas of caps and shoe uppers.
4. Other flat textiles: Umbrellas, bags, home textiles such as cushions and throw pillows.
Raw Materials
1. Special printing binder paste (transparent base paste)
2. Functional particles: Pearl powder, glitter powder, sequin flakes
3. Auxiliaries: Cross-linker, thickener, moisturizer
4. Fabric: Cotton, cotton blend, polyester for ladies' garment, stage & kids clothing
5. Equipment: Screen printing table, screen frame, squeegee, tunnel dryer, heat press
Limitations: Not for roll-to-roll fabric printing. Not recommended for extra large cut pieces due to single-head pallet support which may cause instability.
Process Flow
1. Separate color layers according to customer pattern, output film positive, make screen stencil.
2. Mesh count selection (critical note):
- Pearl paste (fine particles): 100 ~ 140T mesh
- Fine gold glitter powder: 60 ~ 80T mesh
- Large sequin flakes: 40 ~ 60T coarse mesh
3. Screen tension inspection, emulsion thickness adjustment.
1. Stir base binder paste evenly first.
2. Add pearl powder / glitter / sequin flakes by required ratio, gently stir slowly.
- Pearl powder: 8 ~ 15% by weight
- Glitter powder / sequin: 15 ~ 30% by weight
3. Add cross-linker (1 ~ 3%) to improve wash fastness, add moisturizer to prevent premature drying & screen blockage.
1. Inspect fabric: Remove oil stain, dust. Check fabric shrinkage.
2. Pre-print base layer (optional): Print white underbase paste on dark fabric to enhance brightness of shimmer effect.
3. Positioning: Fix cut piece on printing table, mark pattern position to avoid misalignment.
1. Mount screen above fabric, pour mixed special paste onto screen.
2. Print with squeegee at stable pressure & angle; 1 ~ 2 passes for sufficient ink deposit.
Two curing options for Vietnam factories:
1. Tunnel hot air dryer: 130 ~ 150°C, 90 ~ 180 seconds
2. Heat press curing: 140 ~ 150°C, 8 ~ 12 seconds
1. Let printed cut pieces fully cool down at room temperature.
2. Visual inspection items: Shimmer uniformity, missing print, pinholes, particle agglomeration, edge bleeding, sequin falling off.
3. Hand feel check: Avoid overly stiff prints, especially for children's wear & ladies fashion.
- Wash test: ISO 105 C06, check flake loss after repeated washing
- Dry & wet rub fastness test
- Hand feel & bending test (stage costume needs frequent bending)
Common Pain Points in Vietnam Garment Production
1. Screen clogging: Wrong mesh count is the top issue. Large sequins used on high mesh screen cause continuous blocking and low production efficiency.
2. Particle sedimentation: Paste not continuously stirred → uneven sparkle effect batch by batch.
3. Incomplete curing: Insufficient temperature / time → serious glitter drop after washing.
4. Hand feel issue: Over-thick printing layer, garment stiff, not suitable for close-fitting women's & kids wear.
5. Sequins sharp edge: Poor quality sequin flakes may irritate skin, strict requirement for children's wear.
Two Production Modes in Vietnam Factories
1. Table manual screen printing (common for small & medium orders): Manual station printing, flexible for fashion & stage custom patterns.
2. Automatic rotary screen printing (mass large orders): High speed, consistent print thickness for bulk children's wear & women's apparel.
