Criteria For Selecting Screen Frames

Sep 10, 2026 Leave a message

When selecting a screen frame, it must possess sufficient strength to withstand the tension and pressure applied during mesh stretching, while maintaining dimensional accuracy and resisting deformation. To minimize the impact of frame bending or warping on tension stability after stretching, the frame can undergo pre-stressing treatments-such as being manufactured with a convex profile or subjected to simultaneous treatment during pneumatic stretching.

The internal dimensions of the frame must exceed the size of the printed image area; a variety of specifications are typically required in production, though an internal frame size of 2a × 2b is generally sufficient for an image area of a × b. While ensuring adequate strength, lightweight frames should be chosen whenever possible to facilitate ease of handling. Additionally, the bonding surface between the frame and the mesh requires a certain degree of roughness to ensure strong adhesion.

The frame must be robust and durable, capable of withstanding exposure to water, solvents, and temperature fluctuations during use, thereby ensuring long-term, repeated service without warping or distortion.

When selecting a frame, one should also consider physical property metrics such as the modulus of elasticity, moment of inertia, density, and coefficient of thermal expansion.
